I can't believe that Jack flew Melissa in for the opening night of my play, The Curious Savage. How in the world did he keep that a secret from me? He told me he had a store emergency, left here late Thursday night, picked her up at the airport, and got me to come running out to the kitchen by saying there was water all over the floor. No water (and no store emergency), but there stood Melissa in the kitchen! She said I jumped when she yelled SURPRISE but I don't remember that. I do remember crying! How great to have her here. She stayed till Sunday afternoon and it was a wonderful, wonderful weekend. The only negative is that now I can't tell Jack that he NEVER can keep a secret. So worth it! Oh, and how do you like the pushed back hair of the 50's (the era in which the play takes place) and my stage makeup? I don't even look like me - not to me anyway. If you don't agree, please don't tell me. Once thing is for sure, eyeliner and I just don't team up together well.
It's amazing how much your lives and ours are similar. I have just booked a flight out for the kids spring break to surprise my mother in north florida. I can not wait!!!
