Have you ever seen so many red shirts in your life?! I guess UW had their fist game Saturday - but to us, we were only excited about Taste of Madison. Every Labor Day weekend, local restaurants set up booths around the capital square and sell samples of their specialties, usually $3-$4 each. Now if you know Jack, you know he's not too daring about trying new stuff so it's my chance to eat at places we'd never go. And of course, Jack got his favorite - brats. But he really was daring - he tried batter fried cheese curds!

Jack is enjoying his brat. We took our lawn chairs and spent the afternoon there, reading, people-watching and of course, eating. | I'm enjoying my dinner from Bandung - an Indonesian Restaurant. I'm holding the perkedel jagong, and the opor ayam is to the left. Both were yummy! |

Here's a closeup of my dinner, plus Jack's cheese curds. I didn't take a photo of my favorite - the chocolate chip cookie dough eggroll - it's the best dessert ever! | And my poor sleeping prince just got all tuckered out by all the activities, so he took a little nap. A folded up lawn chair makes a lousy pillow. |
