Another Soldier's Gone Home

On October 20, our beloved uncle Ed walked through heaven’s gates and he’s home now with the Lord he served most of his life. The article in the paper read, “Ed shared many wonderful years with the love of his life and soul mate, Sue Kennedy.” Uncle Ed and Aunt Sue were married nearly 60 years, and were truly best friends. The man who spoke at the funeral said Ed was “the best man he ever knew.” I know that’s true – Ed was the best man most of us have ever known, and we are going to miss him so very much. Even though we can celebrate Ed’s perfect healing in heaven – our hearts ache for those he left behind - Aunt Sue, daughters Renee & Suanne and son, Lewis, the 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ed was my mom’s younger brother, and always made our trips to Alabama special and welcoming. Our last visit with him in 2005, he made sure we all went to the Catfish Restaurant because he knew how much I loved good catfish (you can’t eat it in the North you know, Yankees just don’t do catfish right). See you soon, Ed, on heaven's shores. We love you!
