Mom is getting along very well at the group home and looks so beautiful in this picture. Today is her 82nd birthday! Amy had the rest of the family over at her house, and picked up Mom yesterday for a birthday celebration. I played around with the picture some, to get rid of the glare. You can see my Photoshop talent leaves a lot to be desired, I just sort of blobbed brown all over the door to block the light, but I did a slightly better job on Mom's hair. It's hard to believe that she really doesn't know our names (when Debbie visited her last week, she sat down beside her and said "hello sister") but she does know that we are family. One thing that Melinda (the care provider) shared with Amy is that Mom has a great sense of humor and likes to laugh. That pleases me so much - I have a lot of memories of joking with Mom, she kind of has the same sort of twisted humor I have, so I guess I get it honest. So take that, Alzheimer's - you haven't robbed her of everything!
