Our first tree in Wisconsin

Believe me, the weather outside is frightful! What are we doing in Wisconsin? Besides freezing, that is. We got our tree on Dec. 1, the first day of "real" snow and then freezing rain. We went to Tate's Trees wtih Deb & Steve, our friends from church. We got a beautiful 8' Balsam Fir, and now we know what kind of tree to get every time we go. It smells wonderful! I love my gold and burgundy decorations - but the tree is soooo big, I didn't have enough ribbon or ornaments to cover it all. So the back side of the tree, that faces the backyard patio, is covered with the dated ornaments that I've collected since 1977- our first Christmas together. Actually, it's sort of cool that I can use them - but I'm still going to be shopping for sales after Christmas for more gold and burgundy. Do you like our tree? Oh, and now Jack is wearing a Wisconsin shirt!
