We had our first Drama Workshop at Heartland Sun Prairie this morning. Sharon Sherbondy, the director at Heartland Rockford, ran the workshop, and basically auditioned us through improv exercises. There were 10 of us, not bad for a church of just about 200. Sharon is extremely professional, and sets a very high standard. Yet there's some things I don't agree with - like only holding auditions once a year. I understand that she wants the group to bond and to feel "safe" with each other. But I feel like people who may be new to the church, and are specifically looking for drama opportunities, deserve the right to be considered for the group- without having to wait for that year to roll around. Anyway, we had a lot of fun and it was great to work with others that I haven't had a chance to really get to know.
