So much has happened, so quickly, since we moved Mom into Assisted Living. Within two months we've learned that she is needing more, and so in less than a week, we'll be moving her to another place that has a lockdown Memory Care wing. We don't regret the time she had in Assisted Living, it was a really nice place and the staff are wonderful. But Mom left one afternoon, just before dinner, and wandered down Grape Road, only to be brought back by the police. We're so glad to have already been on the waiting list at the other place, and now she will be 100% safe and taken care of. She's become far less social, won't go to the dining room for meals anymore, wanting a tray brought to her room. She won't go for her hair appointments, won't take her pills anymore (we're having them crushed in to her food) and often sleeps in her clothes. In the meantime, we're all working very hard on the house to get it ready to go on the market, hopefully in September. The house looks very different now, and I just wanted to include one picture here to help us remember it. Mom had almost 35 years there - and was very proud of her little house.
